Making a pilgrimage of this magnitude is impossible without the help of benefactors. Throughout the history of the Church, pilgrims have taken the prayers and intentions of their financial supporters to the Holy Land and other Sacred Shrines.
In that vein, we have created a unique way for you to participate in our journey toward World Youth Day - You can become a Virtual Pilgrim!
Virtual Pilgrim
Being a virtual pilgrim allows you to experience the excitement of World Youth Day through the eyes, ears, and reflections of SLU students. Along with a daily video, you will have exclusive access to each pilgrim’s daily journal entry and photos. Other than being there first hand, there is no better way for friends, family, and neighbors to experience this amazing global event. In addition to your prayers, you will be able to leave words of encouragement and communicate with your favorite pilgrims on their Pilgrim Pages. We greatly appreciate your contribution to our pilgrimage, and to show our gratitude, we want to keep you close to the action and close to our hearts as our lives are changed in Australia. Access to the Virtual Pilgrimage page requires a user name and password, which will be e-mailed to you upon completion of your online donation.
Levels of Giving
Although every donor will have access to the Virtual Pilgrim pages, we would like to show our gratitude by offering a number of gifts to our supporters. Below is an outline of potential giving levels and some creative gift offers. We realize that that every dollar you give will bring us that much closer to Sydney. We look forward to having you join us for this one-of-a-kind experience of World Youth Day 2008.
