Dear Future Marchetti Residents,

We are very excited that you have decided to live in Marchetti Towers this fall.  We are looking forward to another great year and making next year a smooth and enjoyable one at Saint Louis University.

Our staff is excited about this coming Fall for another reason, every apartment in Marchetti will be renovated this summer.  The improvements include new flooring, kitchen cabinets and countertops, paint and other upgrades throughout the apartment.

Some facts about Marchetti Towers:

Marchetti has 540 residents, 6 resident assistants and 2 assistant hall coordinators.

Each Marchetti apartment comes with a couch and a coffee table for the living room, a full size refrigerator, fully functional oven and stove, and a dinette set. Each building has laundry facilities in the basement.  The apartments DO NOT have microwaves.  A few things to remember as you’re shopping and packing for your apartment space:

  • Candles (lit or unlit), alcohol (if you are under 21), and firearms and ammunition are not permitted in your apartment.
  • If you have a balcony, you may want to consider purchasing some chairs and a small table because university furniture is not permitted outside.
  • Call your roommate(s), and find out what things you’ll share, and who will bring what (ie: microwave, television, futon/couch, etc.).
  • Think about packing in storage containers that will stay in the residence hall room for the year; plastic containers that fit under a bed have proven to be useful.

As you are trying to find your niche at SLU, we invite you to consider joining Apartment Council. They are responsible for many area improvements.  They also put on the popular apartment area Casino Night, as well as other programs.  If you enjoy community building and program planning, then this may be just what you are looking for!  They are always looking for new members with exciting ideas.

If you have any questions about where you are assigned to live for next year, please call the Residence Life office at 977-2811 or email them at reslife@slu.edu. In the event you have questions or concerns about roommates, room sizes, what to bring/not bring, or anything else, check the Department of Housing and Residence Life’s website at: www.slu.edu/services/residence.
