in various administrative and clerical tasks. Duties include
typing, duplicating, filing, processing forms, completing

Answers questions from students, staff, and parents. Other

Summer Employment for Students

Staff the security desks for summer school and conferences held on campus. Attend training and scheduled meetings. Welcome visitors, distribute information, coordinate security efforts, enforce policy, and perform minor clerical duties, including answering phones. Issue and collect keys per established protocols. Call the CA “on call” for any minor crisis situations, facilities issues and lock-outs. All security desk workers will be responsible for both daytime and late evening/early morning desk hours, no overnight hours.FWS is preferred, but not required.
Compensation: $6.65 per hour/ Minimum of 25 hours per week required for free campus housing
Dates of Employment: May 14, 2008 - August 16, 2008 (flexible on end date after July 31)
Conference Assistants CA’s / Summer Conferences
1) CA’s Provide customer service support to guests. Serve as a resource to University guests, rotating 24 hour “on-call” schedule, with responsibility to respond to crisis situations, facilities issues, lock-outs & enforce conference policies. Issue and collects keys for conference guests per established protocols. Prepare buildings for opening/closing of summer conference season / places clean linen and strips used linen from sleeping rooms. Assists Lead CA in transporting linen for laundering.
2) Lead Linen CA transports clean and used linen, to and from laundry locations with other CA’s assistance, maintains and tracks linen inventory to assure adequate supply of clean linen. Takes “on-call” rotation.
BOTH: Provide Event Services with any additional assistance during their summer events. Unable to hold employment outside of this position or attend summer school classes. FWS is preferred but not required.
Compensation: $6.65 per hour/for up to 40 hours a week / free campus housing Lead Linen CA (1 position): $7.00 per hour/for up to 40 hours a week / free campus housing Dates of Employment: May 14, 2008- August 8, 2008 (flexible on end date after July 31)
1) Desk Worker/Time Sheet/ Payroll: Oversee administration and scheduling of personnel for the security desk. Administer student worker timesheets / payroll. Perform daily audits of security desk to stock forms and attend to room key issues.
2) Key Wizard: Organizes, inventories, tracks and packages room keys for each conference.
BOTH: Cross Trained to assist as needed. Participate in rotating 24 hour “on-call” schedule with other 9 CA’s – with responsibility to respond to crisis situations, facilities issues, lock-outs & enforce conference policies. Assist in organization of check-in and check-out processes, issuing and collecting keys per established protocols. Unable to hold employment outside of this position or attend summer school classes.
FWS is preferred but not required.
Compensation: $7.00 per hour/ for up to 40 hours a week / free campus housing Dates of Employment: May1, 2008- August 16, 2008
Primary responsibilities include laundering conference linens (sheets, towels, washcloths, pillow cases) and folding said linens in preparation of pick-up to take back to Frost Campus. Half laundry functions will take place at the Water Tower Inn, other half will be processed at Walsh Hall Laundry room. Extensive training will be provided. Applicants should have few to no other outside commitments (classes mainly), and cannot have another job. FWS is preferred but not required. Must be able to work evenings after 4pm at Salus-WTI.
Compensation: $8 per hour/ up to 40 hours a week / free campus housing Dates of Employment: May 12, 2008- August 15, 2008 (flexible on end date after August 8)
Office Assistant / HRL
Perform light clerical duties such as filing, typing, answering phones, returning phone calls, errands, routine paperwork, and small projects. All positions need to be FWS.
Compensation: $6.65 per hour/ for up to 40 hours a week Dates of Employment: May 13, 2008 - August 23, 2008
Furniture Mover / HRL
Inventory current and new furniture. Setting up and breaking down room and lounge furniture. Straightening storage rooms. Receiving new furniture and transporting miscellaneous items to assist with departmental operations.
Compensation: $8.25 per hour/ for up to 40 hours a week Dates of Employment: May 12, 2008 - August 24, 2008
Resident Advisor / HRL
Participate in on-call duty rotation. Provide programming for summer students. Confront & document policy violations. Be available to attend disciplinary hearings when necessary. Maintain confidentiality with sensitive situations. Be available to assist with all major check in/check out days for summer school residents. Respond to a variety of crisis and emergency situations. Make referrals to appropriate campus offices and personnel when necessary. Assist with administrative tasks for summer school. Help with emergency maintenance or housekeeping concerns. Demonstrate the willingness to complete other reasonable tasks requested by the AC, CDC, or GA.
Compensation (Summer 07): $1800.00 for the summer paid in three monthly installments Dates of Employment: May 12, 2008 - August 17, 2008
