What
Makes a Relationship Healthy?
Participants will explore what constitutes a healthy relationship
and discuss ways to improve them.
Sex
In The Dark:
Preparation in advance is required. Participants anonymously
submit questions related to sex, relationships, health issues,
spirituality, etc. prior to the presentation. On the day of
the program a panel of professionals answer the questions.
Sexual
Assault Prevention: This
program takes a look at sexual assault, myths about rape in
our society, communication between the sexes and prevention
strategies. Members of S.H.A.P.E. are available for this program.
Managing
Emotions:
How
To Say "NO" and Stick To It: Participants
will work on the basics of becoming a more self-confident
person. Modeling of assertive behavior will be part of this
program.
"You
Make Me So Angry..."
Participants will explore their anger style(s) as well as
identify the source for their anger and learn how to manage
it effectively.
Depression
Is The Blue Plate Special:
Participants will learn how to identify the signs of depression,
discuss possible causes and current methods of treatment.
Self-Improvement:
Body
Image, Media and You:
An interactive program that explores how much of an impact
the media has on an individual's view of his/her body. Steps
to reframing one's body image are outlined.
What
Is EQ and Why Is It Important To Me?
Participants will learn about the importance of emotional
intelligence, identify their own, and the impact it has in
their life. Team building, communication styles, and learning
styles are some issues that can be addressed in the workshop.
Healthy
Sexuality:
What is sexuality and how do we develop our sexuality. Participants
will explore their own development of what they consider to
be "normal." S.H.A.P.E. peer educators are available
to present on this topic.
Stopping
Rape - What Men Can Do:
This program explores the role males can take in the prevention
of rape.
Alcohol
Education: Participants
will further their understanding of the effects of alcohol
and drugs on the body, as well as confront their own reasons
for use of alcohol and/or drugs.
Stress
Management:
ABC
of Stress: An
overview of stress and its effects will discussed. Strategies
to reduce stress will be explored.
Stop
Shoulding On Yourself:
The way we think can affect how much anxiety we may feel.
Participants will examine and reframe their automatic thoughts
to aid in the reduction of anxiety/stress.
Groups
for 2005-2006
"To
Thine Own Self Be True": This
is our general therapy group that is offered throughout the
semester. Minimum participants: 4 students. Time and Day to
be determined. Facilitated by Scott Goldman, Ph.D.
Graduate
Student Support Group: This
support group focuses on issues unique to graduate students
of Saint Louis University. Minimum participants: 4 students.
Time and Day to be determined. Facilitated by Mark Pousson,
M.S.W., L.C.S.W.
Crossroads
Support Group:
This is a weekly support group dealing with alcohol and drug
related issues. Call for more details. |
