Bryan "Jake"
Jacob, L.P.C. Bryan "Jake" Jacob, a Licensed Professional Counselor, grew up in Belleville, Illinois and currently resides in Columbia, Illinois with his wife and two daughters. Jake earned a B.S. in Psychology and Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and his M.S. in Clinical Psychology at Murray State University. He has practiced in a variety of settings and has experience with crisis intervention. Jake's theoretical orientation views healthy relationships and a healthy sense of self as essential to overall mental health. He has a strong emphasis on reality therapy and modeling healthy habits, but often infuses techniques from cognitive-behavioral, existential, and developmental approaches. Jake's clinical interests include sequelae of childhood maltreatment, and suicidal and self-injurious behaviors. |
