Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830) was a noted portraitist, most famous for his portraits of the ruling heads of Europe who achieved victory over Napoleon.  These works are now installed in the Waterloo Room of Windsor Castle.

Lawrence's portrait of John Wilson Croker (1780-1857), Secretary of the Admiralty is exhibited in the master bedroom of the Historic Samuel Cupples House.
