Saint Louis University Sports Business Program Overview
Saint Louis University's Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in sports business prepares you for a career related to athletics. Possible careers in the business of sports include front office management and operations, sports marketing and communication, sponsorship development, licensing, and representation. Offered through SLU's John Cook School of Business, SLU's sports business concentration is interdisciplinary and includes courses from the areas of management, marketing, economics, IT management and communication.
If you choose to major in business administration with a concentration in sports business at SLU, you'll benefit from an active sports business advisory board, which includes representatives from the sports business industry, including major and minor league franchises, major sponsorship organizations, sporting goods manufacturers and sports agencies. You'll also have a chance to participate in SLU's Sports Business Association, which provides students with opportunities to network with professionals in sports business.
What You'll Learn in SLU's Sports Business Program
Students in the John Cook School of Business' sports business concentration complete several required courses in the area of sports business before moving on to electives in areas such as Sports Economics, Negotiations and Contract Resolution, Legal Issues in Sports and Entertainment and Sports Communication.
You'll also have the opportunity to complete an internship within the sports business industry for credit toward your degree. Business majors at SLU may also complete the sports business supporting area of study in addition to an additional chosen area of concentration.
