Welcome to the Griesedieck Complex! The Griesedieck Complex includes the attached residence halls of Griesedieck, Walsh, and Clemens.
Check out the Housing and Residence Life website for more information regarding Griesedieck, Walsh, and Clemens Halls. Amenities and general information can be found here and floor plans can be found here.
Your move-in will begin in the Georgetown Lot located just behind the Griesedieck Complex off of Laclede Avenue. A campus map highlighting various parking locations can be viewed here. This map may be beneficial to print and bring to campus when you arrive for easy reference.
With limited space in the Georgetown Lot, this lot is used solely for unloading. Once all your items have been unloaded, please move your vehicle to Laclede Garage, which is also located just off of Laclede Avenue. During Fall Welcome, parking in the Laclede Garage is free.
When you arrive on SLU's campus on your assigned move-in date, go directly to the Georgetown Lot. Due to limited parking in this lot, a line forms on Laclede Avenue from the west. Security Officers from the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness will assist with the flow of traffic.
Once you arrive to the Georgetown Lot, you will be given an information card for your vehicle. Please write in your contact and room information on this card and place it on your dashboard. This will allow SLU staff to contact you if any questions arise. After parking, follow the signs to check-in located inside Griesedieck Hall. As the new student goes to check-in, have at least one member of your family stay with the vehicle as Oriflamme Leaders begin unloading items.
If your room is located in Walsh Hall, Clemens Hall, or Griesedieck Hall floors two through six, you will be using the stairs for your move-in. Oriflamme Leaders will direct you to a marked-off area for you to begin unloading your items. Once you have received all your check-in information, Oriflamme will help carry your items up to your room. Please remember, due to limited parking in the Georgetown Lot, once your items are unloaded, please move your vehicle to the Laclede Garage to allow for another student and their family to utilize that parking spot.
If you are in Griesedieck Hall floors seven through sixteen, you will have one trip in the elevator. Oriflamme Leaders will direct you to a marked-off area for you to begin unloading your items. You will then be able to utilize a "speed pack" to move many of your items. A speed back is a large cardboard box on wheels that fits perfectly into the Griesedieck elevator. In order to accommodate all students moving in, you will only have one trip in the elevator - so make it count! Oriflamme Leaders will help carry your remaining items to your room. Please remember, due to limited parking in the Georgetown Lot, once your items are unloaded, please move your vehicle to the Laclede Garage to allow for another student and their family to utilize that parking spot.
