Freshman Commuter Student Information

The Student Involvement Center works with all incoming traditional freshmen commuter students, who have been exempt from the residency requirement, to help ensure a smooth transition to Saint Louis University. We provide a variety of programs and services to foster a sense of community both within the group of freshmen commuters and to the broader Saint Louis University campus community.

Welcome Class of 2019! We look forward to you joining the SLU community.

Program Overview:

  • Commuter Assistants (CAs)
The Commuter Assistants provide assistance and direction for student learning and academic success while assisting in providing and coordinating programs to facilitate community for traditional freshmen commuter students that have been exempted from the residency requirement.
  • Commuter Student Association (CSA)
The Commuter Student Association is a student organization that provides programming and resources. Their purpose is to connect commuter students into the SLU student body, enhance the commuter experience, and find solutions to commuter problems. Click here for more information on CSA.
  • Commuter Lounge (2nd Floor BSC)
This space in Busch Student Center is devoted to SLU commuter students. Feel free to use the lounge to study, take a break between classes, or to eat. The lounge includes a large flat screen tv, a dvd player, comfortable furniture, as well as tables and chairs.
