- Fraternity and Sorority Life
What is a IFC Fraternity?
IFC Fraternity Life at SLU has a lot to offer. Joining a chapter can enhance your SLU experience by providing members with a brotherhood of lifelong friendships. Members grow during their college years through a number of leadership experiences, participation in service to the community, and a network of contacts and mentors. Whether you are looking for involvement in an intramural team, a cheering section at Billiken athletic events, a study group at Pius Library, a service trip with Habitat for Humanity, or a group to relax with on a Saturday night, you can find it in a fraternity.
Saint Louis University is the proud home of eight North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) fraternities. Our chapters are fortunate to have the support of alumni not just in Saint Louis, but around the country. Each fraternity brings something unique to the community, we welcome you to come and explore where you fit best!

IFC Fraternity Recruitment
IFC fraternities host recruitment activities during both the fall and spring semesters. Interfraternity Council hosts informational sessions and all-fraternity events to give you the opportunity to ask questions and mingle with the different chapters. Each IFC fraternity hosts its own week of recruitment events and interested students can attend events for one or more chapters throughout the week. There is no guarantee that if you choose to participate in recruitment that you will receive a bid from a chapter, but it is important to keep an open mind throughout the process. Even as the informal recruitment process closes, it is still possible to receive a bid from a chapter, because IFC fraternities are able to recruit all semester.
Registration for Fall 2016 recruitment is open and the deadline is August 31st at 11:59pm. Click here to register!
Please note that your name, email, and legacy status will be shared with the chapters.

2016 IFC Executive Board
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) serves as the governing body for our eight fraternities on campus. The council is made up of six executive officers and delegates from our eight chapters. All fraternities in good standing are allowed one vote. IFC is responsible for both fall and spring recruitment and promoting opportunities for philanthropy and community service, leadership development, accountability, and various other programming for the fraternities on campus. The IFC works to promote a sense of community not only among the member fraternities, but the entire Greek system at SLU.
