(From Left to Right: Kellianne Conlan, Lizzy Miotti, Sarah Nowell, Abbie Kemble, Momo Rice, Emily Bley)
The Panhellenic Council serves as a council of women whose objective is to represent the six sorority chapters on campus. Each chapter is represented by two delegates who attend weekly meetings with the executive board. One major responsibility of the Panhellenic Council is the planning and implementation of formal recruitment at the beginning of every academic school year. Through the recruitment process, an average of 400 young women join a sorority. In addition, the council provides educational programming and resources for its member chapters throughout the year. Through the bylaws and standards of the Panhellenic Council, respectful conduct between and outside any sorority is expected. Respect is shared through the cooperative efforts within the Panhellenic Council. During weekly meetings, council business is conducted and communications of recent sorority events are reported to enable a united and panhellenic atmosphere at Saint Louis University.
The Panhellenic Creed
We, as undergraduate Members of women's fraternities stand for good scholarship, for the guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.
We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic Life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
