To prepare and safeguard Saint Louis University students studying abroad, the Office of International Services adopted a comprehensive insurance package, mandatory for all students participating in a Saint Louis University International Program. International Programs include, but are not limited to, an international program of study, research, service, or other University sponsored international experience.
Sanitas Health Insurance (Madrid Study Abroad Students):
Students studying abroad at the Saint Louis University Madrid Campus are automatically enrolled in the Sanitas health insurance policy and will receive their health insurance card upon arrival in Madrid. There are no additional forms required to formalize your enrollment in this insurance policy.
HTH Worldwide Health Insurance Information:
Students traveling overseas, to destinations other than Madrid, enroll in the HTH Worldwide insurance policy.
Students participating in short term independent international experiences (international clinicals/electives, international conference, international research, international internship or international service) may access the international insurance payment link when registering their travel through the Billikens Abroad tool in mySLU; this link is also available on the Short Term International Programs webpage.
Students participating in faculty or staff led short term programs will be enrolled through their specific programs.

How do I choose a doctor who accepts HTH Insurance?
Log on to www.hthstudents.com and search for a doctor in the region you are visiting. If you have not already completed a user profile, you may be prompted to do so at this time. Once you complete your user profile, you will able to run a search for doctors, download appropriate forms, etc.
What if I visit a doctor who does not have an agreement with HTH?
There is a reimbursement claims process for students who inadvertently seek care from a health care provider that does not have an agreement with HTH Health Services. Students who seek care from a health care provider that does not have a current agreement with HTH Health Services will need to pay for services rendered up front and then submit an insurance claims form to HTH for reimbursement.
