Reading Development - Study Skills - Speed Reading and Comprehension
Program Information

SLU and the Institute for Reading Development partner in offering nine summer reading skills programs for all ages. Goals for each age group include:

4-year-olds - students entering 2nd grade:
Focus on phonics, comprehension and independent reading.

Students entering grades 3-5:
Improve reading comprehension, develop reading fluency and long-word decoding.

Students entering grades 6-11:
  Learn study skills, increase reading speed and reading speed.

Students entering 12th grade and adults:
Become faster, more effective readers by learning note-taking techniques and the most effective approach to reading comprehension.
