Children on Seashore with Lobsterman can be seen in the third floor hallway of Cupples House. In this particular
piece, Adam Emory Albright displays his specialization in paintings of children at play, against landscape backgrounds,
although he began his career as a landscape painter. He later began famous for his juvenile subjects in a rural
environment. Albright became known as the "James Whitcomb Riley of the Brush."
Albright exhibited his work in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, from 1884- 1910;
National Academy of Design, in 1892; and the Art Institute of Chicago, from 1896-1939. He was also a featured
artist at the Columbian Exhibition in Chicago,which took place in 1893.
