Freshman Application Timeline

FALL ADMISSION & ENROLLMENT

NOVEMBER 1

ADMISSION AND SCHOLARSHIP REVIEW BEGINS
The Office of Admission begins reviewing freshman applications for admission and scholarship for on a rolling basis. Admission and scholarship decisions are mailed shortly afterwards.

SLU also accepts the Common Application and you may use the Common Application's Secondary School report form instead of ours. If you apply using the Common Application, you will be considered for admission on the same terms and within the same timeframe as those who use SLU's regular freshman application.


DECEMBER 1

PRIORITY DEADLINE FOR SCHOLARSHIP CONSIDERATION
To receive priority consideration for University merit-based scholarships, the following items must be submitted by December 1:

Admission applications submitted by December 1, will be automatically considered for a range of Saint Louis University's merit-based scholarships. Applications submitted after December 1 will be given scholarship consideration based on availability of funds.

DEADLINE FOR PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
To be considered for the Presidential Scholarship, a separate scholarship application is required. The completed Application for Freshman Admission (required components listed above) and the appropriate scholarship application must be submitted by December 1 to be eligible for consideration for the Presidential Scholarship. DEADLINE FOR MEDICAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM APPLICATION
To be considered for SLU's Medical Scholars Program, a separate application is required. The completed Application for Freshman Admission (required components listed above) and the appropriate application must be submitted by December 1 for consideration. Click here to learn more.

DEADLINE FOR HONORS PROGRAM CONSIDERATION
To be considered for SLU's University Honors Program, a separate application is required. The completed Application for Freshman Application (required components listed above) and the appropriate application must be submitted by December 1 for consideration. Click here to learn more.

DEADLINE FOR NURSING PROGRAM CONSIDERATION
Students interested in Nursing must submit the completed Application for Freshman Admission (required components listed above) and indicate Nursing as their major by December 1 for consideration into this highly-selective program. Students will be notified of their admission status in the program by February 1.

DEADLINE FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY PROGRAM CONSIDERATION
Students interested in the Program in Physical Therapy must submit the completed Application for Freshman Admission (required components listed above) and indicate Physical Therapy as their major by December 1 for consideration into this highly-selective program. Students have two options for admission. The application deadline for both options is December 1.

  1. Students with an ACT composite score of 30 or higher with math and science subsections scoring at least a 28 ACT (or equivalent SAT scores), high school GPA of 3.85/4.0 and an outstanding high school academic record (students who have earned A grades in all high school math and science courses), will be considered for early acceptance to the SLU Program in Physical Therapy.
    PLEASE NOTE: Applicants who meet the early acceptance criteria will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

  2. All other students with an ACT composite score of 25 or higher with no subsection below a 23 (or equivalent SAT scores) and a high school GPA of 3.2/4.0 are encouraged to apply for the standard selective admission process for the SLU Program in Physical Therapy. All supporting documents (transcripts, test scores, senior class schedule) must be received by January 15 for selective admission. Students will be notified of their status by February 1.
    PLEASE NOTE: If a student is not accepted through the early acceptance process, he/she will automatically be considered for the standard selective admission process if minimum requirements are met.

DEADLINE FOR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY PROGRAM CONSIDERATION
Students interested in Occupational Therapy must submit the completed Application for Freshman Admission (required components listed above) and indicate Occupational Therapy as their major by December 1 for consideration into this highly-selective program. Students will be notified of their admission status in the program by February 1.


PREFERRED DEADLINE FOR FLIGHT SCIENCE / PROFESSIONAL PILOT PROGRAM

Students interested in Flight Science are strongly encouraged to submit the completed Application for Freshman Admission (required components listed above) and indicate Flight Science as their major by December 1 for consideration into this highly-selective program. After December 1, applications to the Flight Science program will be considered on a space-available basis.


JANUARY 1

FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID AVAILABLE TO FIRST-TIME FILERS
The FAFSA (for freshmen entering in fall) is available beginning  January 1. The FAFSA is available at your high school guidance office or online. Filing the FAFSA is required to be considered for need-based financial aid programs. Filing the FAFSA between January 1 and March 1 is strongly encouraged to be considered for the maximum value of these awards. SLU's FAFSA School Code is 002506.

Please note that filing the FAFSA is not required to ensure or maintain eligibility for merit-based scholarship. Filing the FAFSA is, however, required to ensure priority consideration for all need-based University, federal and state financial assistance programs.


FEBRUARY 1

DEADLINE FOR PRE-LAW SCHOLARS PROGRAM
To be considered for SLU's Pre-Law Scholars Program, a separate application is required. The completed Application for Freshman Admission (required components listed above) and the appropriate application must be submitted by Febuary 1 for priority consideration. Click here to learn more.


DEADLINE FOR MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. SCHOLRSHIP APPLICATION

To be considered for the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship, a separate scholarship application is required. The completed Application for Freshman Admission (required components listed above) and the appropriate scholarship application must be submitted by February 1 to be eligible for consideration for the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship. Click here to learn more.

 


MARCH 1

NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL AID AWARDS FOR FINANCIAL AID APPLICANTS
Complete financial aid packages, which include both merit-based and need-based awards (if applicable), will be issued to financial aid applicants beginning in March provided that the applicant's FAFSA has been submitted by the priority deadline of March 1.

DECISIONS FOR MEDICAL SCHOLARS, PRE-LAW SCHOLARS AND HONORS PROGRAMS
Admission decisions for these programs will be mailed to all eligible applicants after March 1. Eligible applicants can expect to receive notice of their status within the first two weeks of March.


MAY 1

DEADLINE FOR ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT
Admitted students must submit their $450 enrollment deposit by May 1 to secure a position in the entering freshman class. A portion ($200) of your enrollment deposit is refundable for freshmen and new transfer students until May 1.

DEADLINE FOR HOUSING APPLICATION AND CONTRACT
Admitted students who desire University housing must submit their housing application and contract by May 1.

Because housing cannot be guaranteed, students are encouraged to submit their housing materials as early as possible. Housing is assigned on a priority basis according to the date when the completed housing application, contract and deposit are received by the University. Instructions on how to apply for housing are included with notification of admission.
