What advice would you offer to students during their college search and application processes?
It's never to early to start researching colleges and application processes. The earlier you get everything completed, the more time you will have to finalize enrollment prior to classes starting. It is also important to contact prospective institutions to discuss course transferability prior to applying.

How long have you worked as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I have worked in the Office of Admission at Saint Louis University since January 2001.

What do you enjoy most about your work as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
The best part is helping students and their parents understand that a SLU education is both valuable and affordable. It is fun when they have that realization.

Where is your favorite spot on SLU's campus?
The clock tower and fountains in the center of campus.

What is your favorite restaurant (or entertainment venue) near SLU's campus that you recommend to students and their families?
My favorite restaurant near SLU is Triumph Grill. The food is great and it has a really cool motorcycle shop attached to it.

What did you study as an undergraduate?
I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1992.

Other than those regarding financial aid, what are the most common questions you receive from prospective students and their families, and how do you respond?
The most common question I get from my students/families is whether or not SLU is affordable. I always tell these students that through a combination of scholarships and our generous financial aid packages, SLU can be a reality for many students regardless of income level. It is important to not cross SLU off the list for financial reasons before receiving an aid package from us. I encourage my students to look at a SLU education as a true investment in a successful future. The second most common question is, "How many of my credits will transfer to SLU?" I encourage students to always apply to receive an official evaluation.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
