Women's and Gender Studies Undergraduate Capstone (WGST 4960)

The capstone course offers students the opportunity of completing a final research project to summarize their studies in the department. This project enables students to reflect on how their different courses (both in Women's and Gender Studies & out) can be useful in contributing to a focused research project; it permits students to pursue a topic with some depth and focus with the self-conscious use of a research method. It also enables students to have a mentored one-on-one research experience with one of our faculty who serves to guide the project. The projects are presented at a final event at the end of the semester which permits the knowledge accumulated through the project to be shared with the wider community of Women's and Gender Studies scholars and students.

Women's and Gender Studies Epistemology Papers (WGST 5020)

As part of the Graduate concentration in Women's and Gender Studies, students must compose an individual paper exploring a topic of their choosing with integration of feminist theory and feminist epistemological issues with their chosen field of study. Students meet with faculty mentors to discuss their papers and help them explore their research into their topic. The projects are presented at a final event at the end of the semester which permits the knowledge accumulated through the project to be shared with the wider community of Women's and Gender Studies scholars and students.
