Why Study About Women and Gender?

Women's and Gender Studies aspires to examine women's experiences - their bodies, psychology, history, ways of thinking and styles of communication and leadership. Women's and gender studies hopes to offer engaging courses that develop out of multicultural perspectives to enable citizens to become more reflective about their own lives.

The department works to enhance communication between people of all genders and to prepare students for careers in healthcare, education, business, publishing, journalism, law, social services, public government service, and the arts. Courses encourage students to become reflective about their own self-understanding in order to serve as active citizens in the world.
