The Saint Louis University community is invited to learn what the Women's Commission at SLU is all about by attending one of our many informative and educational events.
Come for fellowship with the women of SLU during any of these programs hosted during the 2013-2014 academic year.
Gatherings begin at 11:45 a.m. Programs start promptly at noon and end at 1 p.m.
2013-2014 Event Descriptions
Women typically take care of everyone else in their lives first and themselves last. This workshop is focused on helping the women of SLU learn how to take action for better health. Be inspired to take control of your health and better care of yourself.
Join Michelle Lee, M.D., Joanne Knight Breast Health Center and instructor of radiology in the Division of Diagnostic Radiology and Section of Breast Imagin; Mary Brigid Holloran Schwartz, M.D., director for Saint Louis University's Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health Center of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, (MIGS); Marcella Petzchen, NP (Preventative Medicine); and Suzanne Mahon, RN, DNSc, /AOCN, APNG (Genetic Counseling) for an informative panel discussion.
Julia Wolter, associate professor in the Doisy College of Health Sciences, will also host an informational table on family health history and the portrait, and personal health records.

Continuing the tradition established last year at the 40th Anniversary Celebration, the Women's Commission will be hosting their second annual trivia night. The night will include trivia games, a silent auction, door prizes, 50/50s, and a prize for the 1st place tables. The theme for the evening will be 80s, and there will be prizes for best dressed and best table decorations.

Program: Trivia starts at 6:30 p.m.
Location: Multipurpose Room of the Allied Health Professions Building.
Tables cost $200 and seat 8. To purchase a table, visit SLU Marketplace. The income from the night will benefit the Women's Commission Sister Shirley Kolmer Memorial Endowment Fund, which was established in 1994 to continue and enhance the work of the Commission. Gifts to the fund are tax deductible as donations to Saint Louis University.
