Ingatian Family Teach-In and SOA Vigil
The Center provides scholarship assistance to social work students who wish to participate in the Annual Ignatian Family Teach-In, held in conjunction with the vigil to close the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (formerly School of the Americas). The trip to Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia, where the Institute is located, is offered through Campus Ministry and gives our students the opportunity to join over 2,000 students, faculty and staff from other Jesuit Universities and colleges around the nation at the teach-in.
Education and Advocacy Day
Each spring during the Missouri legislative session, the Center, in cooperation with the School of Social Work, sponsors a trip to the State Capitol for students to learn about policy making first-hand and gain experience advocating on issues of social justice with elected representatives.
