The school looks for applicants who share the school's mission "to educate the whole person, promote openness to truth, encourage respect and appreciation for human and cultural differences and diversity, foster unflagging commitment to social justice, and instill a passion for lifelong learning and personal as well as professional growth."
With this mission in mind, applicants to the School of Social Work MSW program must possess excellent academic skills, personal and professional maturity, leadership skills and a commitment to social justice.
The Admissions Committee considers several factors to determine a candidate's eligibility: academic achievement, strength of the undergraduate program, application information, personal statement, work experience, any graduate degrees earned, motivation, leadership and service. The undergraduate G.P.A. is weighted with other criteria in the admissions process.
