Medieval and Renaissance Studies Minor

Overview: SLU's Medieval and Renaissance Studies minor offers you the opportunity to study the Middle Ages through the lenses of art history, literature, history, philosophy, political science and theology. Students completing this minor broaden their knowledge of the medieval period by engaging in a multidisciplinary approach to the study of this pivotal period in history. This minor provides an excellent complement to a variety of majors within SLU's College of Arts and Sciences.
Curriculum: Students complete 21 credit hours of course work, including an introductory course, followed by courses in specific disciplines and a capstone course. The capstone course, entitled "Medieval Synthesis," allows you to work on an interdisciplinary research paper with a member of the faculty. By the end of your studies, you are required to demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Latin.
