Pre-Law Scholars Program
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
Composite ACT score of at least 28 or a combined SAT score of at least 1250 (math + critical reading) and an outstanding high school academic record (with emphasis placed on the student having earned "A's" in history, social studies, civics, and English).
The Pre-Law Scholars Program is an exclusive opportunity for freshman applicants who are considering law school in the future. Students who are accepted into this highly-selective program are placed on a guaranteed admittance track to Saint Louis University School of Law.
Pre-Law Scholars have the unique benefit of being guaranteed admission to the School of Law during the spring semester of their junior year - nearly a year before traditional pre-law students in their class will begin hearing admission decisions from law schools.
They also have the privilege of taking Foundations of Law - a course that permits Pre-Law Scholars to take a course in SLU's law school, be taught by law school faculty, and tackle an introductory law school curriculum during their junior year. This course is one of the only ways for undergraduate students to experience a law school classroom prior to attending law school.
Pre-Law Scholars must still sit for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) at the appropriate time, but their test score does not impact their admission to law school through the program.
APPLYING TO THE PROGRAM:
Students who meet the minimum requirements for consideration and who have submitted their application for freshman admission must apply separately for the Pre-Law Scholars Program via the online application. Completed Applications for Freshman Admission and for the Pre-Law Scholars Program should be submitted now to be considered for the fall 2013 term.
