The Biology Department recently revised the requirements for the BA and BS degree programs. In recognition of the diverse interests of SLU Biology students, we have differentiated the BA degree program into three tracks at the BA level: 1) Biological Science (similar to the previous BA degree requirements with two changes: calculus (MATH 142) is now required for the BA degree; organic chemistry (CHEM 342/344, 343/345) is recommended but not required for the BA degree programs); 2) BA in Biology, Plant Sciences track; and 3) BA in Biology, Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology track. The requirements for the revised BA degree tracks are available here:
Students who began their Biology degree programs prior to the introduction of track programs (students who entered SLU prior to the 2010-2011 academic year) have the option to complete the original BA degree program or one of the new track programs. The requirements for the original Biology degree programs are listed below, (available only to students who entered SLU Biology prior to the 2010-2011 academic year). Students who entered the program prior to the 2010-2011 academic year and have not yet declared their major should indicate which program they wish to follow on their declaration forms. Changing degree programs is permitted with the permission of your mentor.
