Why International Studies?
As the importance of the world's interdependence becomes more evident, it is essential to promote global membership. Technological developments are vastly broadening our network of information and communication, overriding traditional notions of national borders and revolutionizing our concept of doing business. With an individualized area of concentration in international studies students learn their unique place as citizens of the world.
SLU's Center for International Studies offers a major unlike any other. The International Studies major produces students who have immersed themselves in a different culture through studying abroad and have gained work experience and networking connections through their internship. Our students communicated internationally with language proficiency and focus their studies on their primary area of interest with interdisciplinary electives.
