The School of Nursing welcomes international students to an intellectually stimulating doctoral program offered in a supportive environment. International students at Saint Louis University comprise 10% of the student population and 13% of the nursing doctoral students. The Office of International Services provides support for international students. Language assistance and aid in writing are available through the English as a Second Language (ESL) program and the Graduate Writing Center.
- International applicants are asked to contact The Office of International Services prior to completing their application.
- Scores on IELS should be about 6.0 to 6.5. TOEFL scores should ≥ 213 (computer-based), ≥ 80 (Internet-based), or ≥ 550 paper-based).
- If scores are not at this level, one or two semesters of English as a Second Language (ESL) may be required. It is strongly suggested that international students enroll in ESL classes in the summer session prior to beginning their program of studies. Lack of English proficiency will inhibit a student's progression in the program.
