Teaching: Dr. Cuvar practiced as a Critical Care and Recovery Room nurse for 15 years before becoming an educator. She has been teaching full-time for the last 13 years. She teaches in all of the Prelicensure programs, both in the clinical and classroom environments. Currently she teaches Health Assessment, Fundamentals, and Critical Care Nursing.
Practice: Throughout her career as a nurse she worked with adults in a variety of settings including: med-surg, in-patient surgery, out-patient surgery, home-health, and critical care.
Research: Dr. Cuvar is currently collaborating with other faculty on topics significant to nursing education.
Professional and Scholarly Activities: Dr. Cuvar is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau International. She has served as a reviewer for several nursing textbooks.
