Teaching: My primary teaching responsibilities have been research methods at the graduate level and theory development at the doctoral level, both on-site and distance.
Research: My research focus is health behavior. In the past, my National Institute of Nursing Research funded research focused on older adults' thoughts about their exercise behavior and how these thoughts can be modified to improve exercise maintenance. I have expanded my focus to include dietary behavior in middle-aged adults. Meta-analysis is my current methodological interest.
Practice: I have been a consultant on statistics and research design for health-related activities.
Professional and Scholarly Activities: I am a reviewer for several professional journals and for Sigma Theta Tau International. I am a member of Midwest Nursing Research Society and the American Nurses' Association.
