Minor in Foreign Service
Who might be interested in the Minor in Foreign Service?
This certificate program is intended to help its participants prepare for an international career, whether with the U.S. State Department, with international non-governmental organizations, with international organizations, or in the private sector.
This is a 24-hour program:
- 6 hours of required classes: Introduction to International Politics and Introduction to Diplomacy,
- 9 hours of international Political Science electives,
- 9 hours of international electives in other departments.
- In their senior year, candidates write a 20-page career-oriented capstone paper in consultation with the program director.
Electives should be selected as preparation for one's proposed career.
