ONGOING RESEARCH: FBI-SLU Gang Threat Assessment Team This research, initiated at the request of the St. Louis Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has a two fold purpose. First, with a team of select ndergraduate students we are evaluating the prevalence of street gangs in the City of St. Louis. Second, we are evaluating the local FBI’s current efforts to reduce gang activity in our community. This research not only provides valuable information to the local FBI, but also provides hands-on experience to undergraduate students regarding the importance of research, how to conduct qualitative studies, and the value of the findings to the larger society.
