The Pre-Law Program is excited to announce the launch of Amicus Curiae, the new pre-law society on campus. If you are either a pre-law student or have any interest in pre-law, we encourage you to check out the organization, which promotes SLU's core Jesuit values and prepares its members for a career of service through the practice of law.
President: Shreya Walia
"I am an English literature and legal studies double major here at Saint Louis University. Along with my involvement with Amicus Curiae, I also compete with SLU's Mock Trial team, write for OneWorld Magazine and volunteer at Angel Baked through SLUCOR. In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, reading Salinger or Atwood, watching stand-up comedy, traveling the world and eating Chick-Fil-A. After graduation I hope to attend law school and work for the government. Class of 2016."
Vice President: Megan Von Borstel
"I am a junior majoring in political science and legal studies. Outside of Amicus Curiae, I can be found nursing my addictions to coffee, Netflix, and guacamole. I am also an active member of SLU's Mock Trial team, the University Honors Program and OneWorld Magazine. I expect to graduate in May of 2016 and plan to attend law school after graduation."
Secretary: Christina Lam
"I am a political science and philosophy double major. In addition to the Pre-Law Society, I am also involved with the Mock Trial Team, SLU Karate and the office of admission. I am excited to contribute to our new group's success as the secretary."
Treasurer: Steven Dyke
"I currently serve as treasurer in Amicus Curae. I am a student studying accounting and entrepreneurship in the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University and am part of the Pre-Law Program."
Recruitment Director: Quinton Meyer
"I am a freshman health management major and also plan on achieving minors in urban poverty studies and Latin studies. Following graduation, I hope to obtain a master's in health administration and continue to law school. I am involved in the Pre-Law Scholar Program, the University Honors Program, the Micah Program, College Republicans and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. In Amicus Curiae I will serve as the recruitment chair for the remainder of this spring and for the 2014-2015 academic year. I look forward to being a part of SLU's new pre-law society and cherish the opportunity to study law in a collaborative and welcoming environment. I strongly encourage anyone interested in studying and practicing law to join Amicus Curiae! You won't regret it."
Social and Philanthropy Committee Chair: Paulina Menichiello
"My name is Paulina Menichiello, and I am very excited to be the social and philanthropy committee chair of Amicus Curiae for fall of 2014! I am pursuing a public health major and minors in Spanish and urban poverty studies in addition to a health law-focused pre-law track. I am proud to be a senator for the College of Public Health and Social Justice, a OneWorld Magazine contributor, part of the Billiken Buddies program and a member of Alpha Phi Omega. Get excited for some fun social and service events throughout the year with fellow SLU students considering attending law school!"
