The undergraduate and graduate letter grading system at Saint Louis University follows a 0 - 4.0 grade point scale. Grades are assigned as follows:
|AU||*||Audit. Course appears on transcript, but no credit is given toward graduation.|
|I||*||Course work incomplete due to unusual or extraordinary circumstances. Must be removed within one year after course is taken or "I" is converted to "F".|
|P||*||Pass - credit given but not in fulfillment of degree requirements.|
|NP||*||No Pass - No Credit.|
|W||*||Authorized withdrawal before deadline.|
* Grade has no effect on the grade point average.
As of Fall 2014, grade point averages (GPA) are determined by dividing the total quality points earned by the total GPA hours attempted, and rounding at two digits to the right of the decimal point.
NOTE: No course in any major, minor or certificate will be accepted toward graduation if the student receives a letter grade below "C." Any student enrolled in the Computer Information Systems program who fails a course two times may be dismissed from the CIS major, minor or certificate program.
