Health Information Management Professional Performance Standards
Saint Louis University's Doisy College of Health Sciences is committed to full compliance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Qualified applicants to the Health Informatics and Information Management program within the School must be able to complete all requirements leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management. This degree signifies that the holder possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to function as a health information management professional in a variety of positions throughout the health care industry.
The Health Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) student must possess certain competencies to successfully complete the program. These competencies include knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are necessary for professional practice.
The essential program requirements outlined below are presented for applicants and matriculates to review and use as they assess their ability to perform all activities to successfully complete the degree requirements.
