Pre-Health Professions Club
The Pre-Health Professions Club is a student organization comprised of about 500 students who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine or podiatry. The club provides an excellent opportunity for meeting other pre-health students, networking, volunteering, service work, and learning more about the pre-health professions. Any student is eligible to join. You may pay the club dues in Pre-Professional Health Studies Office (Verhaegen Hall, Room 314) or at any meeting. Freshman dues (one-time charge): $20
Meetings: All meetings are held at 7:00 pm in BSC - St. Louis Room, unless noted otherwise noted. A list of the Fall meeting dates will be posted in August.
Just a reminder that our attendance policy allows for you to have two unexcused absences. You can have absences excused by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org with a legitimate reason for your absence.

Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED)
Saint Louis University's chapter of the National Premedical Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED) is the only national honor society for students preparing for careers in medicine, dentistry, podiatry, optometry, pharmacy and veterinary medicine.
The Society was founded in 1926 at the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa. AED now has more than 190 chapters at colleges and universities throughout the United States.
The Saint Louis University Chapter, Missouri Beta Chapter, is one of 32 chapters in Region II (the Midwestern States). In even numbered years, AED holds national conventions to conduct the Society's business. Each chapter is encouraged to send a student delegate. The conventions provide an opportunity to meet pre-health professions students from other colleges and universities and exchange ideas. Each year, AED awards scholarships in each of the five AED regions. Each chapter nominates one outstanding senior for the scholarship competition.
To become a member of AED, you must complete three semesters of your pre-medical curriculum with grade averages of 3.2 (overall cumulative) and 3.2 (math/science cumulative). Officers of the Missouri Beta Chapter at SLU serve as the officers of the Pre-health Professions Club. Members of the Club are considered associate members of the Saint Louis University Chapter of AED (They cannot become members of AED until completion of the three semesters of a pre-health professions curriculum with the requisite grade averages).
