Pastoral Counseling & Spiritual Direction
One of the major commitments of the Campus Ministry staff is to be available to students for individual conversation "serious or light, or anything in between" and for pastoral/personal counseling. Individual spiritual direction is also available. If desired, appointments can be set up ahead of time by contacting the Campus Minister. However, drop-ins are always welcome.
Through such conversations, Campus Ministers assist students with transitions, evolving relationships and other life issues. They also foster prayer and faith development and discernment about one's life direction, career or vocation.
Sharing one's grief with peers who have had similar experiences is one way of dealing with the complexity of feelings, which arise at the death of a loved one. Students mourning the loss of a family member or friend can meet individually with a campus minister or meet as part of a group for support.
