Mental health services are available to all Saint Louis University students, including full-time, part-time, graduate, law, and medical students. We provide a broad range of services to the Saint Louis University community, including individual and couples counseling, educational and therapy groups, psychiatry, outreach and programming, and consultation to groups, departments, and organizations.
Professional staff are prepared to help with many student concerns:
- Relationship problems
- Adjustment to college life
- Self acceptance/worth
- Loneliness, sadness, and anger
- Family stress (e.g. divorce, pressure)
- Trauma (e.g. sexual assault, abuse history)
- Alcohol, drug, or eating related issues
- Eating concerns
- Stress management
- Identity, diversity, and acculturation issues
For Mental Health Emergencies, a trained and licensed staff therapist is on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year at 314-977-TALK (8255).
What about confidentiality?
Confidentiality is often a concern of those who seek counseling. The UCC team values your confidentiality extraordinarily highly. Therefore, your complete privacy can be assured UNLESS you are a danger to yourself or others. Furthermore, mental health information and records are not available to
anyone outside or within the university without your written permission. If you have additional questions about matters of confidentiality, please ask your counselor.
