The Saint Louis Learning Communities Program is a joint Student Development - Academic Affairs collaboration. Several people work to accomplish the mission and manage the goals for the overall development of the Learning Communities Program. There is a campus wide Learning Communities Task Force that is co-chaired by someone from the Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs and someone from the Division of Student Development. This ensures that we are representing the undergraduate curricular and co-curricular experience within the Learning Communities Program.
We have a variety of staff that can assist you:
Susan Fanale, Director of the Student Involvement Center
Susan co-chairs the Learning Communities Task Force and coordinates the Living-Learning Programs at Saint Louis University.
Dawn Aldrich, Associate Director for Residential Education
Dawn serves on the Learning Communities Task Force and can answer questions regarding the housing experience for Learning Communities. She works with the housing assignments staff with the LC/FIG placement process.
Kaleigh Mrowka, Program Coordinator for Learning Communities and First-Year Commuter Students
Kaleigh works closely with the residential staff in helping plan activities and events for the students. She also coordinates the LC Student Advisory Board and works with the LC Mentors.
Megan Shaffer, Program Coordinator for First-Year Interest Groups
Megan works closely with our advising units, academic departments, and the Registrar's Office with the FIGs that are in the Learning Communities.
Dr. Lisa Dorsey, Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Education
Dr. Dorsey co-chairs the Learning Communities Task Force and helps to develop relationships with our academic partners that participate in the Learning Communities Program. Dr. Dorsey also chairs the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Committee (UAAC) and is the academic liaison to the Integrated Advising and Mentoring system.
These staff members are supported by many different offices and people on campus who make the development and implementation of learning communities possible.
