Getting involved on campus is a good thing. Getting over-involved is not. As students refine their goals and interests during their sophomore and junior years at SLU, we hope that they also refine their involvement.
Depth of involvement and leadership, versus breadth of involvement (membership in a lot of programs or organizations), is very important developmentally and can assist in learning and personal growth opportunities, which will come in handy as you seek internships or full-time employment after graduation. Support for our values of leadership and service does not happen through stretching yourself too thin, but in really learning through leadership and depth of understanding.
