One of the advantages of Film Studies at SLU is the plurality of departments offering courses associated with Film Studies, and the disparate fields that involve themselves in their own representation via film.
Our connection with the various Departments that contribute to the Film Studies program makes possible a wide array of Film courses in many subjects. The interdisciplinary nature of this program's study blends seamlessly with today's world as a multi-faceted, much-mediated, and multi-cultural environment.
Over the last two years, Film Studies at SLU has offered courses cross-listed with the English Department, Communication, Modern and Classical Languages, History, Fine and Performing Arts, and American Studies. Most recently we have begun to assimilate courses from Political Science into the program, and we are expecting to develop a collaborative relationship with Women's Studies, Philosophy, and Theology.
