Programs of Study
The Department of Fine and Performing Arts offers four programs of study for all students to explore. Each emphasizes a different discipline, but all encourage reflection on the world around us through art. In this way, we discover an excellent opportunity to study humanity, aesthetics and cultural practices through theory and practice.
In Art History, students examine the significance of art across cultures and throughout history, keeping a critical eye to contexts in which it was created.
In Music, students master their musical talents while working under the close tutelage of a faculty of professional musicians.
In Studio Art, students learn to see and think like visual artists, utilizing many media to express their ideas.
In Theatre, students collaborate as a theatrical company, fostering commitment to the group while strengthening their abilities in performance, design, direction and management.
