Guided by the teachings of the Church on social justice, we serve others by promoting justice for the disenfranchised through advocacy, direct service, and formation, thereby creating partnerships with those who promote human dignity.

Social Ministry News
AS OUR CHRISTMAS JOURNEY HAS LED US TO AN EPIPHANY IN THE HOLY LAND, let us give a listen to the Living Stones of our faith, our Palestinian Christian sisters and brothers suffering in "O Little Town of Bethlehem." Discover their voices at www.hcef.org.
NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS: Might your New Year's resolutions include getting more involved in our parish community? Please consider helping out our works of Charity (making sandwiches or casseroles once-a-month, helping folks learn to read, helping Sunday sales of Bridge Bread and Fair Trade coffee, joining our Outreach efforts on Wednesday mornings 9-11 a.m., Winter Inn efforts, or grant-writing), Justice (helping our Advocacy Committee discern which issues to bring to the attention of our parish, proposing a speaker or issue, participating in our parish's Response to Racism, Environmental Ministry, Fair Trade Ministry or Holy Land Ministry; or joining a JustFaith program) and Peacemaking (learning more about the nonviolent tradition of our Church, participating in the weekly Peace Vigil held on the steps of our church, reading our Pope's World Day of Peace message). For more information and to sit down and discuss your resolution, contact Richard DeBona at 977-7309; firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the Parish Social Ministry office in the Parish Center.
PARISH RESPONSE TO "Ferguson": Our parish is organizing ways to move forward a faith-filled response to the racism which has once again risen to the surface in our city and country. We are developing action plans in three areas: Education, Advocacy, and Relationship-Building. If you would like to stay informed of our involvement and/or if you have a suggestion, please send your contact information to Richard DeBona in Parish Social Ministry at email@example.com. And please join us on Sunday, February 8, at noon (after the 10:30 Mass) in the Ballroom for a presentation on "Race" by SLU professors: Colleen McCluskey (Philosophy) and Jonathan Smith (African-American Studies).
