The Interfaith Retreat is cosponsored by Campus Ministry and InterFaith Alliance. It is an opportunity for students to explore shared values such as living simply, community service, and social justice from the perspective of various faith traditions. Students will have the opportunity to reflect on and share their own experiences within their traditions as well as learn more about other students' experiences. Students will have a chance to dialogue in large and small groups. Presentation will be given by students, staff, and community leaders about the influence of faith on their lives. Discussion will focus on the principles of service, social justice, and engaging in the interfaith movement. There will be time for personal prayer.

Departure for the retreat will begin around 3 p.m. on Friday, November 5 and we will return to campus around 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 6. Please gather in Campus Ministry (Wuller Hall) for departure. The retreat will be held at the Manresa Center located less than a mile from campus. Transportation will be provided. You will receive an email with exact information (meeting time, etc.) the week of the retreat.
Who Should Register
Any SLU student (undergraduate, graduate, professional) who is interested in engaging in interfaith dialogue is welcome to register. The Interfaith Retreat is ideal for any students looking to explore their own beliefs as well as other traditions. This retreat is open to all students, regardless of religious background, including those students who do not follow any specific faith tradition or are questioning their beliefs.
What to Bring
The Manresa Center is Saint Louis University's urban retreat center. Participants will have either a single, double, or triple room. Sheets, pillows, and towels are provided. Showers are available down the hallways from the bedrooms. What you should bring:
- An overnight bag (pajamas; toiletries; medicines, etc)
- A warm sweat shirt or sweater (Manresa can be chilly) and a jacket
- A Nalgene or other type of water bottle
- A journal if you have one
- Any religious text or other inspirational book you use for reflection (optional)
Registration and Withdrawal Policies
Registration for the Interfaith Retreat is on a first come, first served basis. Registrations are due by Monday November 1. If spaces are filled at the time of registration you can request to be put on the waiting list. If you need to withdraw your registration you can receive a full refund prior to the retreat registration deadline. However, after the registration deadline NO REFUNDS will be issued.
