Dr. Eyler's primary research area is physical activity. After serving 3 years as coordinator of the Women's Cardiovascular Health Network, she now is Co-Principal Investigator and coordinator of the Physical Activity Policy Research Network (PAPRN) http://prc.slu.edu/paprn.htm. This network was funded as a Special Interest Project by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to study policies that affect physical activity rates in setting such as communities, schools, and worksites. Current projects of this network include a case study of active transport to school policies, a study of policy and community trail development, and using concept mapping to develop a research agenda for physical activity policy.
Along with network coordination and research activities, Dr. Eyler is an active member of American Public Health Association and a reviewer for American Journal of Epidemiology, American Journal of Preventive Medicine, American Journal of Health Promotion, Journal of Aging and Physical Activity, and others.
