The Master of Public Health in Epidemiology prepares students to study the determinants of disease and its risk factors in populations.
Students who graduate with this degree are well-prepared for professional roles as project managers, study coordinators and directors of outcomes research in a variety of settings such as health departments, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, hospitals and health systems.
Joint Concentration Options
Students can combine two concentrations, allowing them to expand their knowledge in both areas. The joint concentration options (minimum total credit hours required is 54) for Epidemiology are:
- Behavioral Science and Health Education
- Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness
- Environmental and Occupational Health
- Health Management and Policy
- Maternal and Child Health

For the concentration in Epidemiology, applicants should preferably hold a bachelor's degree in a biomedical or social science.
