Overview: Saint Louis University's Entrepreneurship Program and Center were the first of their kind in Missouri, and among the first twenty-five in the nation. Each is among the most honored operations of their kind. Fortune Magazine's March 22, 2010 issues called SLU one of "5 schools for entrepreneurs" based on the quality, real-world focus and innovativeness of our undergraduate and graduate Entrepreneurship Program.
Curriculum: Curriculum focuses on managing ideas and resources in entrepreneurial firms, fundamentals of leadership, organizational behavior and problems in management.
Faculty: The faculty is at the center of our efforts to provide a high quality and challenging educational experience, with one of the major strengths being that the faculty members are academically prepared in their special field of management and have professional experience in a variety of work settings. Therefore, many classes include the application of theory to real world situations.
Careers: Two student organizations, the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization and the Society for Human Resource Management, provide students networking opportunities with professionals. Possible career paths: business founder, venture capitalist, compensation and benefits manager, human resource manager, strategic consultant, sports manager, business process re-engineering consultant, project engineer.
Internships: Our urban location provides many internship opportunities, which allow students to gain career-related work experience while applying classroom experiences to practice. Most are paid and students may earn academic credit. Supervised by a representative from the organization and a faculty mentor, students have interned with defense contractors, insurance institutions and multinational corporations.
