The American Board of Ophthalmology aims to serve the public by improving the quality of ophthalmic practice through certification, fostering excellence and encouraging continual learning.
“I’m very honored to be appointed to this position,” said Chung, who is also a SLUCare ophthalmologist. “We work to ensure the safety of patients and the community. The role of the American Board of Ophthalmology is to be sure all ophthalmologists who are trained and board certificated are highly educated and qualified to care for patients.
“It’s important for patients and physicians that we maintain high standards. That is why we set guidelines and create all written and oral certifying examinations.”
