The nationally recognized and ranked Saint Louis University (SLU) a pioneer in graduate health management education, has been preparing leaders for the health field since 1947. The MHA program at Saint Louis University was named among the top ten graduate programs for healthcare management by U.S. News & World Report.
Saint Louis University MHA graduates occupy senior management positions in a variety of health care settings, such as, health and hospital systems, insurance companies, academic medical centers, physician practices, consulting firms and benefit management organizations. Recent MHA graduates have been very successful in securing health management fellowships and other key entry level positions across the spectrum of the health sector.
The SLU MHA Program provides students with the finest quality health management education, evidenced by its achievement of continuous accreditation, most recently for the highest level possible from the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).
The MHA curriculum consists of 60 credit hours (two years, full-time) and is designed to provide students with the comprehensive set of competencies they need to succeed as future health care managers. The SLU MHA Competency Model, recognized as one of the few national models for competency-based health management education, emphasizes skill development in leadership, critical thinking, science/analysis, management, political and community development, and communication. Well recognized and fully accredited dual degree programs are available with SLU's top-ranked Health Law Program (4-year MHA/JD), Cook School of Business (24-month MHA/MBA) and Doisy College of Health Sciences (5-year BS-HIM/MHA).
