Neurology, Psychiatry Grand RoundsEvent Details: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., January 20
The department of neurology and psychiatry will host Grand Rounds in two different locations from 8-9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20.
The neurology division lecture will be held in Schwitalla Hall, lecture hall 1. Enter through the Learning Resource Center, 3544 Caroline Mall.
The neurology lecture will be given by residents Bokkwan Jun, M.D., Austin Hake, M.D., and Youngbin Choi, M.D., who will present a programs on various topics.
The psychiatry division program, "Malingering, Reality or Myth," will be presented by Vadim Y. Baram, M.D.
The lecture will be held in Monteleone Hall, 1438 So. Grand, classroom A. Enter through the back parking lot.
Baram is an adult and geriatric psychiatrist in private practice.
He received his medical degree at Tartu University in Estonia and completed his internship at Women's Hospital #2 in Kiev, Ukraine.
Baram performed his residency training within the department of psychiatry at Saint Louis University. He also completed a geriatric psychiatry fellowship program at Saint Louis University.
He was a recipient of the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Award in 2003-2004 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and recipient of the International Award by the American Association of the Directors of Psychiatry residency training programs in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
Baram has had extensive training during his residency and fellowship at Saint Louis University towards long term care. He currently provides care in several nursing homes in the city of St. Louis and vicinities.
Baram is a former deputy representative to the APA Assembly and Executive Council Member of the Eastern Missouri Psychiatric Society. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry.
He has published articles in the American Journal of Clinical Psycopharmocolgy.
The lectures are open to the public.
