The Heartland Center for Public Health Preparedness in the School of Public Health will present a webinar about public health environmental strike teams at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, featuring the Kentucky Department for Public Health.
The motivating factors that precipitated the development of regional strike teams in Kentucky and the initial planning process will be discussed.
Learn about the training plan and skill sets for team members, the KHELPS registration and credentialing process, and "go-kits" developed for each team.
Regional strike team leaders will be available to discuss lessons learned from previous disaster responses and demonstrate how these factors have shaped the team development and further refined the process. Funding issues and future plans to help offset costs also will be covered.
