Mission and Ministry Brown Bag SeriesEvent Details: 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m., February 24
Ignatian scholar Paul Coutinho, S.J., will continue his reflection about unifying aspects of Ignatian spirituality at a three-part Brown Bag lecture series this February.
The three-session seminar, "Celebrating the Ignatian Spirit," will be offered from noon-1 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 10, 17 and 24, in the Knights Room of Pius XII Memorial Library.
Coutinho, (professional studies) is known internationally for his work in Ignatian spirituality. He is the author of How Big is Your God? and Just As You Are. His newest book, An Ignatian Pathway: Experiencing the Mystical Dimension of the Spiritual Exercises, is due to be released this February.
- On Feb. 10, the series will open with "Transcending Cultures: A Universal Spirituality."
- The Feb. 17 session will consider, "Beyond Genders: Ignatian Spirituality's Feminine and Masculine Aspects."
- The Feb. 24 program will close the seminar with "Called to be Free: Psychological and Spiritual Freedom in Ignatian Spirituality."
All employees who register for and participate in all three sessions of the February seminar will receive a certificate of completion from the division of Mission and Ministry.
Participation in the "Celebrating the Ignatian Spirit" seminar provides employees with an opportunity to demonstrate how they have contributed to understanding and living the mission of the University, and it can become part of their employee performance discussion.
